8. F modeling: 2D quadrangles#
This modeling is the 2D equivalent of modeling A (reference). This case does not present oscillations in contact pressures. Just like in modeling A, the quadrangles are cut by an interface parallel to the edges. There are then no P0 segments.
8.1. Characteristics of the mesh#
The structure is then modelled by a regular mesh composed of \(20\times 20\) QUAD4 (See []).

8.2. Tested features#
Friction is taken into account and the contact is active from the 1st iteration of active stresses.
The algorithm for restricting the Lagrange multiplier space is number 2.
8.3. Tested sizes and results#
The contact pressure value is tested at point \(P\) with coordinates \((\mathrm{10,}17.5)\).

8.4. Comments#
This test case makes it possible to find the reference values of the contact pressures calculated in the modeling A, and to verify that in the case of quadrangles cut parallel to their faces, these contact pressures do not have P0 segments (see [Figure 11.2-1]).
