8. F modeling#
8.1. Characteristics of modeling#
3D modeling is used for solid elements with method CONTINUE for the treatment of CONTACT. The contact surfaces facing each other consist of elements TRIA6 facing each other and QUAD8 meshes.

8.4. notes#
The slave contact surface is meshed at TRIA6 and the master contact surface is meshed at QUAD8. Use with QUAD8 elements for the slave surface and TRIA6 for the master surface does not satisfy the compatibility conditions necessary for the proper integration of contact terms [R5.03.52]. In general, if this concept of compatibility is not properly understood, the untrained user is advised to use the same elements for meshing the master and slave surfaces.
