7. Big trips

Large displacement processing is available for straight beams in Code_Aster. It is activated by the keyword DEFORMATION =” GROT_GDEP “. This option allows you to take into account the updating of the geometry at each iteration. At each iteration the geometric rigidity matrix is updated, chapter 6, and is added to the tangent matrix. This allows for better convergence of calculations as explained in [R3.08.09].
