v6.01.122 SSNA122 — Contact validation benchmark NAFEMS 2: punch (rounded edges)

Summary:

This problem is the second test case of a benchmark NAFEMS for validating touch-friction. The benchmark references are obtained with the Abaqus and MARC codes.

This test models a contact between a punch with a rounded edge (fillet) and an axisymmetric block. This test case validates the axisymmetric contact and makes it possible to observe the positive effect of a leave on the singularity of the contact pressure in the vicinity of a sharp angle.

This test includes 4 models to test:

• linear and quadratic elements,

• the “CONTINUE” contact treatment formulations without and with friction.
