1. Reference problem#

1.1. Geometry#

The structure is modelled axisymmetrically.

Note \(M\) the point of the foundation located on the upper face on the axis of revolution.

1.2. Material properties#

Foundation:

Poisson’s ratio: \(\mathrm{0,3}\)

Young’s module: \(70000{\mathit{N.mm}}^{-2}\)

Hall:

Poisson’s ratio: \(\mathrm{0,3}\)

Young’s module: \(210000{\mathit{N.mm}}^{-2}\)

The coefficient of friction between the block and the cylinder is \(\mu \mathrm{=}\mathrm{0,1}\) .

1.3. Boundary conditions and loads#

Since the structure is axisymmetric and subjected to a loading that respects the symmetry of revolution, only one slice is shown. We therefore apply \(\mathit{DX}=0\) on the axis of revolution.

The foundation is embedded at its base:

  • \(\mathit{DX}=0\)

  • \(\mathit{DY}=0\)

The punch is subjected to uniform pressure on its upper side:

  • \(P=100\mathit{Mpa}\)
