6. Conclusion#

In general, the use of interface elements (\(\mathrm{EI}\)) is recommended when several choices are possible. Indeed, this approach combines the qualities of the other two and best meets the requirements of robustness, reliability and performance desired for models intended ultimately for engineering. In dynamics, the EI model is currently being validated; the joint model will be preferred. It can meet a number of expectations as long as it is used carefully. Finally, the element with internal discontinuity has the advantage of not regulating the energy, on the other hand, it accumulates the disadvantages of the other approaches. It is recommended to use it only in very specific cases, for example for multi-cracking in a given direction a priori (see [bib5]).
