7. Summary of results

Whatever the type of modeling of the contact zone, the results obtained are satisfactory. The differences observed in the reaction force are small. But the reference values are very approximate because they are taken from a paper curve.

The mesh of the calculation code taken in reference and that used in the modeling are different. Moreover, the reference does not explain how the normal contact pressure is extracted. Thus, reference tests on this pressure were not carried out. However, non-regression tests are carried out on the contact pressure (\(\mathrm{SIYY}\) at the node in contact). The shape of this pressure and the contact zone are identical between the two calculation codes.
