17. O modeling#

Validation of the 3D quadratic joint with law JOINT_MECA_RUPT

17.1. Characteristics of modeling#

3D modeling for the elastic element.

3D modeling_ JOINT for the joint element

17.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

Number of knots: 24

The elastic element is a PENTA15.

The joint element is a degenerate PENTA15 (knots combined).

17.3. Tested sizes and results#

Modes \(I\) and \(\mathrm{II}\)

Identical to the M model. We just note that \(\mathit{FN}\mathrm{=}\mathit{SIGN}\mathrm{/}2\), because the contact area is equal to \(1/2\).

Fashion \(\mathrm{III}\)

The joint is opened in \(I\) mode until partial damage occurs, then it is stressed in \(\mathrm{III}\) mode. Tangential stiffness slopes are tested at two values of normal apertures.
