11. Modeling I#
Validation of the joint \(\mathrm{3D}\) \(\text{HYME}\) PENTA15 with the law JOINT_MECA_RUPT
11.1. Characteristics of modeling#
3D modeling for the elastic element.
3D modeling_ JOINT_HYME for the joint element
11.2. Characteristics of the mesh#
Number of knots: 24 (including 6 knots with degrees of pressure freedom)
The elastic element is a PENTA15.
The joint element is a degenerate PENTA15 (knots combined).
11.3. Tested sizes and results#
To test the hydraulic part, a pressure \({p}_{\mathit{fluide}}\mathrm{=}500\mathit{Pa}\) is imposed on the node \(\mathit{NS13}\) and the same value is tested on the nodes \(\mathit{NS14}\) and \(\mathit{NS15}\).
We test the mechanics in pure \(I\) mode. The joint is opened until partial damage [5] _ . \(U\mathrm{=}\beta \mathrm{\times }{U}_{\mathit{el}}+(1\mathrm{-}\beta )\mathrm{\times }{U}_{\mathit{max}}\) where \(\beta \mathrm{=}0.2\). Then it goes into compression zone \(U\mathrm{=}\mathrm{-}{U}_{\mathit{el}}\). Finally, the joint is put into tension until complete damage \(U\mathrm{=}{U}_{\mathit{max}}\). We test the global response (the resultant of the nodal force, FN) of the system (joint and cube) in the local coordinate system. The reference values are obtained analytically taking into account the fluid pressure (see page 6).
