4. B modeling#

4.1. Characteristics of modeling#

  • Modeling: DKT

  • Type of finite elements: Quadrangle (QUAD4), dimension of \(\mathrm{0.1m}\).

The plate is then cut into 5 elements along its width and into 40 elements along its length.

The steel frame is modelled by BARRE elements. The cable is discretized into 41 elements since each node of the cable is located in the middle of a quadrangle element.

4.2. Tested sizes and results#

We test the value of the displacement at node D along the \(z\) axis.

Node

Component

Reference Value ( \(m\) )

Precision

\(D\)

DZ

\(-0.101677\) 0.000000

\(1.0E\mathrm{-}2\)

The tension in several elements of the cable is also tested.

\(1.0E\mathrm{-}8\)

\(\mathit{M122}\)
