v7.20.105 HSNA105 - Expansion of an infinite hollow cylinder taking into account heat dissipation due to mechanical deformations#
Summary:
The objective of this test is to validate the establishment of a thermomechanical coupling taking into account heat dissipation due to mechanical deformations as a heat source in the thermal equation. The coupling is carried out via the classical method in the literature called the isothermal staged diagram.
This test case includes two models that correspond to two distinct physical transients described in the literature [2]:
modeling A: Thermoelastic case where the expansion of a cylinder causes it to cool;
modeling B: Thermoelastoplastic case where the plastic dissipation effect compensates for the previous effect and causes the global heating of the cylinder.
The results obtained are in good correlation.
