3. Modeling A#

3.1. Characteristics of modeling#

We use a AXIS_DIAG model for the thermal and a AXIS_SI model for the mechanics. Since the test introduces large deformations, the GDEF_LOG formalism is used.

3.2. Characteristics of meshes#

Two meshes are used (one for each phenomenon).

For thermal engineering, a mesh of elements with linear interpolation is used:

  • 100 elements of type QUAD4.

  • 121 knots.

For mechanics, a mesh of elements with quadratic interpolation is used:

  • 100 elements of type QUAD8.

  • 341 knots.

3.3. Tested sizes and results#

The temperature on the inner wall of the cylinder is tested at time \(t\mathrm{=}\mathrm{6s}\), which corresponds to the peak of cooling of the cylinder.

We plotted the evolution of the temperature of the inner side of the cylinder during the calculation and compared it to the result of L. ADAM. It can be seen that we are getting the same results.
