v6.04.195 SSNV195 - Multi-crack bar with X- FEM#

Summary

The purpose of this test is to test and validate the functionalities of the X- FEM method in the case of multi-fissured \(\mathrm{2D}\) and \(\mathrm{3D}\) structures. Overall, it is a question of redoing the essentials of tests SSNV173 [V6.04.173] and SSNV182 [V6.04.182] for a multi-cracked structure this time.

This test involves a parallelepipedic bar, whose median section is embedded, presenting two cracks crossing it completely (we will then speak of interfaces), placed symmetrically on one side and the other of the embedded section. The bar is subject to imposed displacements, which results in the total opening of the interfaces and the separation of the structure into three parts when it is stressed in tension, or in the appearance of contact pressure when the stress is compressive.

Two types of interfaces are considered, horizontal (a single stage of elements is cut) and inclined (several stages of elements are cut), in order to test the good management of the sub-cutting of the elements during the presence of several cracks in the structure.

The case of a \(\mathrm{2D}\) plate presenting two interfaces is also studied.
