Summary:

The aim of this test is to demonstrate an analytical solution in order to validate the quality of the discontinuous element (see documentation [R7.02.12] for details on this element). The objective of this test is to verify that this model leads to a good prediction of the value of the displacement jump along a crack. To do this, an analytical solution is sought presenting a non-constant jump along a discontinuity that is compared with the solution obtained numerically. Moreover, when seeking to validate a numerical method, it is preferable to ensure the uniqueness of the solution sought. We will see that this is the case for the analytical solution presented if a condition relating to the maximum size of the studied domain according to the parameters of the model is satisfied.
