4. Summary of results

These results allow us to conclude that the internal discontinuity element leads to a good approximation of the analytical solution. Additionally, a study on mesh dependence was done in [bib2]. It can be seen that the error made on the displacement jump decreases when the mesh is refined. This allows us to conclude that, despite a constant jump per element, this model makes it possible to correctly reproduce a crack with a non-constant jump by refining the mesh.
