v4.03.302 TPLS302 - Temperature distribution in a thin plate#

Summary:

We consider a plate subjected to convection applied on the lower and upper faces and on one edge of the plate (width). The temperature is imposed on the opposite edge of the plate.

The aim of this test is to validate the thermal shell element in conduction in the plane and in convection [R3.11.01] and [U1.01.01]. It also makes it possible to validate the edge elements in convection.

Because of the boundary conditions and the loads under consideration, the temperature distribution is uniform along the width. The results are compared with a solution based on a graphical estimate. Both types of approach give equivalent results.

This test is the result of the independent validation of thermal version 3.
