6. Summary of results#
This test validates the principle of representing reinforcement layers by a homogenized grid or membrane model. This validation is based on a comparison with a three-dimensional reference model, supplemented by several non-regression tests.
The homogenized membrane model gives excellent results under elastic conditions, but it requires the prior identification of membrane stiffness coefficients via elementary homogenization calculations. This makes it difficult to use it in an industrial context.
The grid model gives acceptable results although a bit less accurate. On the other hand, it is much easier to use.
With regard to the membrane in large deformations, the results are consistent, the behavior of the element is validated.
