Summary:

This problem allows a comparison of the solutions obtained with various plate elements in linear elasticity:

  • Love-Kirchhoff models (so-called thin plate):

  • triangular surface mesh (TRIA3) DKT,

  • quadrangular surface mesh (QUAD4) DKQ,

  • linear mesh (SEG3) COQUE_AXIS,

  • Mindlin-Reissner models (so-called thick plate):

  • triangular surface mesh (TRIA3) DST,

  • quadrangular surface mesh (QUAD4) DSQ,

  • linear mesh (SEG3) COQUE_AXIS,

  • thick shell models: COQUE_3D (QUAD9 and TRIA7).

  • solid shell model: COQUE_SOLIDE

The same reference solution is treated with three forms of loading: pressure, gravity and shell-force. The quantities observed are: displacements (translation/rotation), deformations and generalized efforts.
