6. D modeling#

6.1. Characteristics of modeling#

The crack is modelled using the X- FEM method. We use 3D modeling and the CALC_G_XFEM operator.

6.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

The mesh contains 1875 elements of type HEXA8.

6.3. Tested sizes and results#

The dynamic stress intensity factors \({K}_{I}(t)\), \({K}_{\mathit{II}}(t)\) and \({K}_{\mathit{III}}(t)\) to \(t\mathrm{=}4.E\mathrm{-}3\mathit{sec}\) are tested for the crack bottom at the middle of the thickness.
