v2.01.321 SDLD321 - Transient dynamic response of a harmonic oscillator with variable damping

Summary:

The system under consideration is a harmonic oscillator with 1 degree of freedom under harmonic excitation at resonance. Various depreciations will be considered:

• critical damping,

• average depreciation,

• very low damping.

Through this problem, we test the various algorithms of the DYNA_TRAN_MODAL [U4.54.03] command and their abilities to deal with extreme damping problems. The results are compared to the exact analytical solutions.
