11. Conclusion

The cable modeling presented above is efficient (reasonable number of iterations per time step or to reach a static balance) and accurate: it is adapted to the analysis of long cables. For short cables, on the other hand, the flexural stiffness is not negligible, especially at anchorages, and the modeling must be done by beam elements in large displacements and rotations [R5.03.40].
