v7.14.102 EPICU02 - Validation of the POST_K_BETA command in the case of an elliptical defect with a positive offset

Summary:

The command POST_K_BETA first calculates the elastic stress intensity factor at the two points of the defect, using the stresses at the nodes resulting from the mechanical resolution. In a second step, using this elastic stress intensity factor and using the so-called « b correction » method, the command POST_K_BETA determines the intensity factor of the elasto-plastic stresses at the level of these two peaks.

This test validates the estimation of the elastic stress intensity factor and the elasto-plastic stress intensity factor at the two tips of an elliptical defect under offset coating in the base metal.

This test is composed of an axisymmetric modeling of the core zone of the tank.
