8. Summary of modeling results

The objectives of this test have been achieved.

• The aim was to show the feasibility of taking into account the enrichment by the Heaviside function of classical form functions on quadratic elements. Only the case of a crack completely crossing the structure has been considered (interface).

• The method is validated in \(\mathrm{2D}\), \(\mathrm{P2}\) on a quadrangle mesh.

• The method is validated in \(\mathrm{3D}\), \(\mathrm{P2}\) on a rectangular parallelepiped mesh.

• A better solution is obtained with C_ PLAN modeling than with 3D modeling.
