2. Modeling A#
2.1. Characteristics of modeling#
This modeling illustrates the methodology for tightening a stud. The aim is to impose a relative displacement between the nodes of the nut and the stud and to calculate the resulting force. The calculation is carried out by modifying the value of DEPL_R until the resulting effort corresponds to the required effort.
2.2. Tested sizes and results#
The realignment achieved is considered satisfactory when DEPL_R is \(8.0E-3\mathit{mm}\). This value makes it possible to pre-tension the stud with an average stress of \(30\mathit{MPa}\) in the stud shaft.
The resulting effort is compared to the effort sought.

Non-regression tests with a tolerance of \(1.0E-6\) are carried out on the resulting efforts of the following faces:
face of the nut in contact with the stud,
face of the stud in contact with the nut,
face of the underside of the stud,
face of the joint in contact with the flange,
face of the flange in contact with the joint.
Note: the resulting force calculated on each face is the same.
