Summary:

The use of softening laws can lead to brutal snap-backs that make it difficult to perform the calculation. To monitor these instabilities, two types of control are available in Code_Aster: control by elastic prediction (PRED_ELAS), which depends on the law of behavior, and generic deformation control (DEFORMATION). To validate these techniques, a tensile test is carried out on a bar with a square cross section of which a section has been weakened in order to cause the damage to be localized.
