v6.03.507 SSNP507 - Stability of an undrained clay slope on a weak foundation#
Summary:
This test analyzes the stability of a slope composed of undrained clay built on a weak foundation. The stability factor is calculated by the method of resistance reduction (« strength reduction method, SRM » in English), using the macro command CALC_STAB_PENTE. The undrained behavior, characterized by the significant volume compressibility of water is nevertheless represented in this test by the cancellation of the angle of friction of the Mohr-Coulomb law in total stress.
Depending on the relationship between the cohesion of the slope and the foundation, a distinction is made two rupture mechanisms as well as a transition point, corresponding to the different trends in the variation of the safety factor. By comparing the results of all the rupture mechanisms written in the literature, we use this test to validate method SRM in the CALC_STAB_PENTE macro command.
