2. Benchmark solution#
This test case is a case of non-regression. This is a particularly unstable study, which quickly changes from a weakly damaged state to a state of rupture (damage equal to 1).
For modeling GVNO, the time step during which the instability is overcome requires several minutes of calculations. To validate the test case, we therefore limit ourselves to verifying the nodal damage at the center of the notch (\(x=2.,y=0.\)), over two steps prior to the snap-back. Loads are not analytical. The values of the imposed displacements are simply empirical. Likewise, there are associated damage values that are not exact values. For the reference, rounding to the 5th decimal place will be taken. For the validation of the test case, a precision of the order of \({10}^{-4}\) is required.
We do a complete snap-back calculation with the elastic prediction management technique for modeling GRAD_VARI.
