Summary:

The purpose of this test case is to validate the functionality of non-linearity of friction by penalization, with the use of two friction coefficients, a static one (for the adhesion phases) and a dynamic one (for the sliding phases).

The system studied contains two degrees of freedom. Its evolution contains an adhesion-sliding transition and a slip-and-grip transition.
