5.1. Characteristics of modeling#

A cross section of the cylinder is modelled in 2D volume elements, considering the hypothesis of plane deformations.

5.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

The cylinder is represented by a regular mesh of quadratic elements with 8 nodes containing:

  • 8 elements;

  • 40 knots.

The mesh contains 1 single cut in the radial direction and 8 cuts in the vertical direction (like 3D).
