1. Reference problem#

1.1. Geometry#

We consider a concrete beam with a length of \(l\mathrm{=}5m\) and a square section of \(w\mathrm{=}h\mathrm{=}1m\) on a side. It contains two longitudinal reinforcements \(\mathit{P1P2}\) and \(\mathit{P3P4}\). The cross section of the two bars is \(\mathrm{0,003}{m}^{2}\).

1.2. Material properties#

The concrete material is isotropic elastic with the following properties:

  • \(E\mathrm{=}30\mathit{GPa}\)

  • \(\nu \mathrm{=}0.2\)

The steel material is isotropic elastic with the following properties:

  • \(E\mathrm{=}200\mathit{GPa}\)

  • \(\nu \mathrm{=}0.25\)

1.3. Boundary conditions and loads#

Edge \(\mathit{P1P3P7P5}\) is stuck.

A movement of \(\mathrm{0,001}m\) in the direction \(z\) is imposed on the edge \(\mathit{P2P4P8P6}\).
