2. B modeling#
2.1. Purpose of modeling#
The purpose of this modeling is to validate the calculation of the rigid impulsive pressure on the bottom of the tank, i.e. for radii smaller than the radius of the tank.
2.2. Benchmark results#
To validate this, we have charts from Eurocode 8 that give three pressure curves according to the \(r/R\) report. The 3 curves correspond to three different values of \(\gamma = H/R\) with \(H\) the water height and \(R\) the radius of the reservoir.

On the x-axis, it is the impulsive pressure normalized to \(\rho_l R ZPA_h\), with \(\rho_l\) the density of water and \(ZPA_h\) the horizontal rigid impulsive acceleration (operand ACCE_SP_H). These curves have been digitized to provide reference values.

2.3. Settings#
The parameters of modeling A are retained except for the radius that is set to \(R=H/\gamma\) for the three values of \(\gamma\) to be tested.
2.4. Tested sizes and results#
The normalized pressure value is tested for the 11 \(r/R\) ratios in the table above and for the 3 values of \(\gamma\). Since the values are not of interest, it is preferable to give the figure comparing the results with the references.

2.5. Comments#
The results are very close to the reference, which validates the calculation of the rigid impulsive pressure on the bottom of the tank.
