2. Reference solution#
2.1. Calculation method#
The aim is to calculate the response of a solid block subjected to harmonic pressure on its upper face. The reference solution is obtained by performing a transient response calculation on a physical basis using the Newmark integration scheme with the parameters \(\mathit{alpha}\mathrm{=}0.25\) and \(\mathit{delta}\mathrm{=}0.5\).
2.2. Reference quantities and results#
It is proposed to test the following quantities:
Move next \(x\) to coordinate point \((0.1575,0.125,0)\)
Stress and deformation at the Gauss point of a cell containing the coordinate node \((0.3325,0.05,0)\)
Stress and deformation at coordinate node \((0.3325,0.05,0)\)
2.3. Uncertainty about the solution#
It is considered that the regime is established after 90 periods of excitement. The reference values used are those recorded over the 98th and 99th periods of the transitory response.
