su4.01.02 Graphical access to computing resources through a VPN connection

Summary

EDF partners are required to access computing resources from the external network in order to carry out mechanical studies or developments in code_aster. This can also be the case for EDF staff wishing to work from outside as part of a trip or a stay in an external organization.

For this purpose, a nominative VPN (Virtual Private Network) access is made available to engineers allowing them to access the EDF network from outside.

This document describes two possibilities for connecting to the computing means and launching a graphical session there, in particular, allowing access to the code_aster launch interface, astk.

Response times and ease of use depend of course on the type of connection, but in general high-speed access is sufficient to work properly.
