**su4.01.02** Graphical access to computing resources through a VPN connection

**Summary**

EDF partners are required to access computing resources from the external network in order to carry out mechanical studies or developments in code_aster. This can also be the case for EDF staff wishing to work from outside as part of a trip or a stay in an external organization.

For this purpose, a nominative VPN (*Virtual Private Network*) access is made available to engineers allowing them to access the EDF network from outside.

This document describes two possibilities for connecting to the computing means and launching a graphical session there, in particular, allowing access to the code_aster launch interface, astk.

Response times and ease of use depend of course on the type of connection, but in general high-speed access is sufficient to work properly.
