3. Modeling A#
3.1. Characteristics of modeling#
The modeling is carried out in plane deformation with 100 elements QU4 for the game, 3202 elements TRI3 for the solid and 100 elements QU4 for the discontinuity.
Discretization in time: 24 time steps for a simulation of 1000 years.
Note: The test is of type D_ PLAN_THMS but the thermal part is configured so that the result is identical to the case without thermal, in order to verify by computer that the elements D_ PLAN_THMS are correct.
3.2. Tested sizes and results#
The figure shows the pressure profiles on vertical section \(x=4m\) at various times. The hydraulic influence of the crack can be clearly seen. In fact, in the vicinity of the latter, very significant pressure gradients are observed which correspond to flows directed towards each of the two mountains. Moreover, we also see the effect of the difference in permeability between the two masses. As expected, the pressure evens out more quickly in the upper massif, which is more permeable.
