v7.32.119 WTNP119 — Plane modeling of clay swelling with the INFELAS model#
Summary:
This test makes it possible to validate the so-called « GonfElas » model. This non-linear elastic model, dependent on suction, describes the swelling behavior of certain types of clay. Typically it is used to model the behavior of compacted clay plugs - or bentonite - used to close radioactive waste storage cells. It is a very simplified version (elastic part) of the Barcelona model.
This model is written according to the following pair of variables: net stress and suction (suction is capillary pressure).
This test represents the swelling pressure of a clay cell that is filled with water. This test case is the variation of test case WTNA110 to a plane geometry.
