2. Benchmark solution

2.1. Calculation method

To validate control LONG_ARC, the solution obtained is compared with the reference solution resulting from the application of the same load, that is to say (i) gravity then (ii) compression without control. The second phase is also tested by combining control and linear research.

2.2. Reference quantities and results

To compare the solutions, we check that:

• the difference between the 2 displacement field solutions gives zero potential energy

• the difference between 2 consecutive moments in the phase where gravity is imposed does lead to a displacement of the node \(A\) following \(y\) from \(1\mathit{mm}\).
