3. Modeling A#

3.1. Characteristics of modeling#

The modeling is 2D of the plane stress type (C_ PLAN).

3.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

The mesh is composed of \(200\mathrm{\times }20\), i.e. 4000 QUAD8 elements. It is shown in the figure below.

3.3. Tested sizes and results#

We test:

  • the potential energy obtained by differentiating between the solution obtained with control and the reference solution after applying gravity

  • the potential energy obtained by differentiating between the solution obtained with control and the reference solution after applying compression

  • the potential energy obtained by differentiating between the solution obtained with control plus linear research and the reference solution after applying compression

  • the displacement difference of the \(A\) node following \(y\) between order numbers 2 and 3.

3.4. notes#

The solutions obtained with or without control correspond perfectly. It is also possible to use linear research in addition, even if in the present case this does not improve the convergence speed.
