v6.04.501 SSNV501 — Stamping a sheet metal with a hemispherical punch (Wagonner test)#

Summary:

This test represents a calculation of the stamping of a sheet by a rigid hemispherical punch in the presence of large plastic deformations. This test is widely used in the simulation of sheet metal forming.

The results analyzed are the vertical displacement of the punch as a function of the force imposed. They are compared to a numerical reference solution.

Three axisymmetric models are carried out. The blank/punch and blank/matrix contact is of the knot-mesh type.

  1. Modeling A: the coefficient of friction, blank/punch contact and blank/matrix contact is zero.

  2. Modeling B: the coefficient of friction, blank/punch contact and blank/matrix contact is equal to 0.15.

  3. C modeling: modeling similar to modeling A with a finer mesh for the blank.
