v6.04.204 SSNV204 — Cyclic drained isotropic compression test on Hostun sand#
Summary
We have the following four models:
Modeling A: a cyclic isotropic compression calculation is carried out in pure mechanics (equivalent to drained hydraulic conditions) with Hujeux’s law. The calculated solutions are compared to results from the finite element code GEFDYN from École Centrale Paris;
Modeling B: a monotonic isotropic compression calculation is carried out in pure mechanics (equivalent to drained hydraulic conditions) on an orthotropic linear elastic material. The solutions are calculated by degenerating Hujeux’s law towards orthotropic linear elastic behavior and are compared to a true orthotropic linear elastic calculation;
C modeling: a cyclic isotropic traction calculation is carried out in pure mechanics (equivalent to drained hydraulic conditions) with Hujeux’s law. The aim of this modeling is to test traction mechanisms complementary to Hujeux’s law. The calculated solutions are compared to results from the finite element code GEFDYN from École Centrale Paris;
Modeling D: a cyclic isotropic compression calculation is carried out in pure mechanics (equivalent to drained hydraulic conditions) as for modeling A. The aim of this modeling is to test the possibility of taking into account mechanical properties that depend on the coordinates of the mesh in a non-linear calculation with Hujeux’s law.
