15. Summaries of results#

The objectives of this test have been achieved:

  • The aim is to show the feasibility of taking into account the rubbing contact on the lips of the crack with the continuous method adapted to the X- FEM framework. Only the case of a crack completely crossing the structure has been considered (interface).

  • The cases where the interface follows the element border (\(\theta =0°\)) and where the interface intersects the elements (\(\theta =26.56°\) in \(\mathrm{3D}\) and \(\theta =30°\) in \(\mathrm{2D}\)) have been validated.

  • The method was validated in \(\mathrm{2D}\) for \(\text{P1P1A}\) and \(\text{P2P1}\) and in \(\mathrm{3D}\) for \(\text{P1P1A}\).

  • The method has been validated both with the augmented Lagrangian method and with the penalized method for the treatment of contact/friction.
