5. Summary of results

The objective of modeling A is to show the re-closure of cracks under compression after a damaging traction phase. Modeling B shows the effects of parameter \({\sigma }_{\mathit{seuil}}^{C}\) (threshold stress in a simple compression test). It should be noted that the threshold stress does not correspond exactly to the stress for initiating compression damage in the calculation, this is due to the fact that the criterion is evaluated on the basis of the deformations at the previous time step and not at the current time step. The error observed therefore depends on the size of the time steps.
