Summary:

In this test case, a semi-static nonlinear geometric calculation of a pinched spherical cap is presented. It allows you to test the COQUE_3D modeling in geometric nonlinear and the algorithm for updating large 3D rotations (Keyword GROT_GDEP of the operator STAT_NON_LINE). This popular example in linear analysis shows the ability of the shell element to represent flexure without extension and rigid body movements well.
