6. D modeling#

6.1. Characteristics of modeling#

Modeling: DKTpour test the contact between two plates.

where \(\text{*}\) refers to the middle node of the plate.

\(A=\mathrm{DR1}\) or \(\mathrm{DR21}\),

\(B=\mathrm{DR2}\) or \(\mathrm{DR22}\),

\(C=\mathrm{DR3}\) or \(\mathrm{DR23}\),

\(D=\mathrm{DR4}\) or \(\mathrm{DR24}\).

The nodes on which the boundary conditions are applied are the nodes named cent1 and cent2 located at the center of each plate.

The calculation by the active stress method is carried out without geometric updating and over a single time step.

6.2. Characteristics of the mesh#

Use of meshes QUAD4

6.3. Tested values#

Central Node Identification

6.4. Comments#

The results obtained with contact are very satisfactory since, with less than 1% error, the results obtained without contact are obtained within a factor of 2. This is in fact the expected result since adding contact between two plates identical to that in paragraph 2 is equivalent to assuming a plate subjected to pressure with twice as high stiffness.
