29. Summary of results

On this very simple example, we are trying to test a new technique for integrating contact terms based on subdivision by sub-elements. This method is activated when pairing MORTAR is chosen for a contact zone in formulation CONTINUE. We validate all possible CREA_MAILLAGE/DECOUPE_LAC pairings.

This technique makes it possible to obtain contact pressures that are very close to the analytical solution. Even on highly incompatible meshes, residues are obtained that are almost zero. Here, the pressure is constant over the entire contact surface, unlike more conventional methods which generally generate oscillations in this type of case.
