7.1. Characteristics of modeling

3D discretization of the beam with element HEXA8. The beam-wall contact is modelled by DEFI_CONTACT with the continuous formulation in augmented Lagrangian.

The initial conditions and the boundary conditions are imposed through groups of nodes:

PAROI	(embedding the lower nodes of the contact element)
PLANSYMX	(symmetry conditions according to \(x\))
PLANSYMY	(symmetry conditions according to \(y\))
NOBARRE	(initial movements and speeds).
The schema parameters for NEWMARK are:
