1.2. Material properties#

The system consists of a mass m and a spring with a stiffness \(k\). The shock bump stop has a stiffness equal to \({K}_{\mathrm{choc}}\).

Mass

\(m=100\mathrm{kg}\)

Stiffness

\(k\mathrm{=}{10}^{4}N\mathrm{/}m\)

Normal shock stiffness

\({K}_{\mathrm{choc}}={10}^{6}N/m\)

1.3. Initial conditions#

The system is initially in the rest position (\({U}_{0}=0\)) and has an initial speed \(\dot{{U}_{0}}>0\). An initial speed of \(\dot{{U}_{0}}=1m/s\) will be chosen for the application.
