6. D modeling#

6.1. Characteristics of modeling#

  • The pipe is meshed into shells (3D shell elements).

  • The ends are meshed into beams (POU_D_T) to be able to easily apply boundary conditions.

  • This modeling is a reference solution for A, B and C models, in particular for out-of-plane bending where published results are not available.
