1. Reference problem#

1.1. Geometry#

It is a rectangular plate, with a hole, modeled in \(\mathrm{2D}\) plane constraints. Only a quarter of the plate is modelled thanks to symmetries. Dimensions are given in millimeters.

1.2. Boundary conditions and loads#

Symmetry conditions:

The plate is stuck following \(\mathit{Ox}\) along side \(\mathrm{AG}\) and following \(\mathrm{Oy}\) along side \(\mathrm{BD}\).

Loading under imposed stress:

It is subject to traction \(P=100\mathit{MPa}\) following \(\mathit{Oy}\) distributed on the side \(\mathrm{FG}\).

1.3. Material properties#

The characteristics are:

  • Young’s module \(E\mathrm{=}200000\mathit{MPa}\)

  • Poisson’s ratio \(\nu \mathrm{=}\mathrm{0,3}\)

  • Elastic limit: \(200\mathit{MPa}\)
