2. Modeling A: Meshing method#

In this modeling, the MAILLAGE method of the PROPA_FISS operator is used for crack propagation.

2.1. Characteristics of the mesh#

The structure is modelled by 7551 TRIA3. The crack is not meshed.

The mesh size in the refined area is approximately 0.05mm.

2.2. Tested sizes and results#

We test the value of the stress intensity factors \({K}_{I}\) and \({K}_{\mathit{II}}\) after the last propagation step, given by CALC_G. The integration rings are R_ INF = 0.1 mm and R_ SUP = 0.2 mm.

2.3. Additional results#

The crack paths are compared between those from [1] and the one obtained by Code_Aster.

Note: the coordinate system center is not the same between [1] and the center of the calculation. To find the coordinate system defined in [1], it is necessary to translate a vector (-10; -4) of the results of Code_Aster. For reasons of clarity, the crack paths are represented in the same coordinate system on the.
